The Hub will not open or will not sign in
The Hub runs on macOS and Windows. What to do when it will not launch, when a sign-in code will not arrive, or when a product will not appear.
The Hub will not launch on a Mac
Symptom: the Hub downloads and installs, then does nothing when opened, or bounces once and quits.
Cause: the macOS Hub requires macOS 14 or later. Its interface is built on a framework that Apple introduced in 14 and did not back-port, so on an older system there is no partial functionality — it simply will not start.
Fix: check your macOS version. If you are below 14, the plugins themselves are the way forward: they install and activate with a license key without the Hub. What you lose is device management and one-click updates, not the products.
macOS says the app cannot be opened
Symptom: a warning about an app downloaded from the internet, or a refusal to open an unidentified developer's app.
Cause: macOS attaches a quarantine flag to files downloaded through a browser. Nolvra builds are signed and notarised by Apple, so the app is legitimate — the warning is about where the file came from, not what it is.
Fix: open it once from Finder with right-click, then Open, and confirm. After the first launch macOS stops asking.
The sign-in code does not arrive
Symptom: the Hub says a code was sent and nothing appears.
Cause: usually spam filtering or a typo in the address. Occasionally the rate limit — three code requests in fifteen minutes.
Fix: check spam. Confirm the address character by character. Then wait rather than requesting again; each new code invalidates the one before it, so a burst of requests leaves only the newest one working. If nothing arrives after fifteen minutes, mail support@nolvra.com.
The code is rejected
Symptom: "invalid code", or the code stops being accepted after several tries.
Cause: codes expire ten minutes after they are issued, and lock after five wrong attempts. The plugin does not distinguish between wrong and expired on purpose — that difference is only useful to someone guessing.
Fix: request a fresh code and enter it promptly.
A product I own is not in My Products
Symptom: you are signed in, but a purchase is missing.
Cause: almost always a different email address at checkout than the one you signed in with. Licenses are keyed to the email you bought with.
Fix: check the address on your purchase confirmation and sign in with that one. If they match and the product is still missing, mail support@nolvra.com with your order number.
A product shows as installed but the DAW disagrees
Symptom: the Hub says installed; the host does not list it.
Cause: the host's plugin cache, or an older copy in the system-wide plugin folder shadowing the Hub's install in your home Library.
Fix: rescan in the host first. If that does not do it, see the article on plugins not appearing in your DAW.
Does the Hub need to keep running?
No. Open it when you want to install, update or manage licenses; close it afterwards. Your plugins do not depend on it running.
RELIC is the one product that depends on being signed in at all — it checks for a Hub session rather than a license key. It still does not need the Hub open, only signed in on that machine.
