INTONE COMMIT, take lanes and your files
What COMMIT writes, where the original goes, where INTONE keeps its edits and audio, and how they come back when you reopen a Set.
What COMMIT does
INTONE edits a vocal without touching the audio file until you say so. COMMIT renders the edited vocal to a new clip, and the clip you started from stays in the Set on a take lane named INTONE original. Nothing is overwritten, so you can always go back to the original.
Committing an edit
Press COMMIT
When the notes sound right, press COMMIT. INTONE renders the edits into a new clip, and the original moves to the take lane INTONE original.
Commit again if you change your mind
You can keep editing after a COMMIT and commit again. While the notes still match the original's one to one, INTONE renders the new result from the original rather than from the first COMMIT, and replaces the first COMMIT in one undo step.
Undo it like anything else in Live
A COMMIT is a step in Live's own undo, as every edit is. Live's Undo takes it back.

COMMIT needs a license
Editing works without a license, and your edits are kept. COMMIT, preview and TO MIDI need one. When COMMIT cannot run, INTONE's status line starts with "Commit NOT done" and says why. The setup article explains how INTONE unlocks through Nolvra Hub.
Where INTONE keeps things
- Commit audiothe project's Samples/Processed/INTONE folder
- Editsthe project's Samples/Processed/INTONE/state folder
- Unsaved Sets and settingsDocuments/Nolvra INTONE
Unsaved Sets
In a Set that has not been saved yet, INTONE writes to the Temp Project Live keeps for it, and the files move into the project the first time you save. If there is no Temp Project to write to, they go to Documents/Nolvra INTONE/Unsaved.
Your edits come back
Edits are stored with the project, so when you reopen a Set INTONE puts them back by itself and the status line reads "Edits restored". It reads the older TUNE folders as well, Documents/Nolvra TUNE and Samples/Processed/TUNE, so edits made before the rename come back too.
Collect All and Save
File > Collect All and Save copies the INTONE device file into the project, under Presets/Audio Effects/Max Audio Effect/Imported, and INTONE reminds you to do it when its file sits outside the project. The engine is not copied: it stays in the Max package that Nolvra Hub installs. On another computer, install INTONE with the Hub and the Set opens with its edits. Without the package the device says it is not installed, and the clips still play.
Before you clean up a drive
- Keep Samples/Processed/INTONE inside every project that uses INTONE. The Set plays its Commit audio from there.
- Keep Documents/Nolvra INTONE. It holds unsaved work and INTONE's settings.
- Keep Documents/Nolvra TUNE and Samples/Processed/TUNE if you have them. INTONE reads older edits from them.
- Uninstalling INTONE in Nolvra Hub never deletes any of these folders.
