Support / Licenses & account

Moving your license to a new machine

Free a device slot from the Hub or your account page, then activate on the new machine. Nothing is lost and nothing is charged.

Two slots, and you control both

Your license activates on two machines. When you change computers you free the slot the old one was using and activate the new one. It costs nothing and there is no waiting period.

Moving a license

Check what is using your slots

In the Hub, the Licenses screen lists every machine each license is currently activated on, with a slot counter and a DEACTIVATE control per device. This is where activations are managed — the account page on nolvra.com covers orders and All-Access and points you here for licenses.

Free the slot

Deactivate the machine you are retiring. The slot is available immediately.

Activate the new machine

Install the product on the new computer and activate it — with your key, or by signing in to the Hub if you are on All-Access.

If you no longer have the old machine

You do not need it. Deactivation happens from your account, not from the machine being deactivated, so a sold, stolen or dead computer is deactivated exactly the same way.

This works the same on Windows and on macOS — the Hub runs on both, and the Licenses screen is the same screen. If a slot will not clear, mail support@nolvra.com from the address you bought with, with your order number, and we will free it.

What "activation limit reached" means

If you try to activate a third machine while both slots are in use, activation is refused with that message. It is a real refusal, not a network error — the fix is to free a slot, then activate again.

What happens to the deactivated machine

The next time a plugin on that machine checks in, it finds its activation gone and locks. It does not delete anything: your presets, your exports and your projects are untouched, and reactivating that machine later restores it.

If the machine is offline, it keeps working until its offline window runs out — deactivation takes effect at the next check-in, not instantly across the internet.

Reinstalling on the same machine

Reinstalling your operating system, replacing a drive or restoring from a backup can present the machine as a different device. If you find a slot occupied by something that looks like a machine you still have, deactivate it and reactivate — the slot count is what matters, not the identity.

If both slots are occupied by the same physical machine after a rebuild, deactivate both and start clean. If that leaves you stuck, mail support@nolvra.com with your order number and we will clear it.

Studios and shared machines

The two-machine allowance is for machines you personally own and use. A shared studio computer used by several people is outside what a single license covers — write to us and we will tell you what does cover it rather than guess in a support article.
