Activating PRISM MINI

There is no licence key and no activation field. PRISM MINI opens when the Nolvra Hub is signed in, and that is the only door.

One door, and no key

PRISM MINI is free with a Nolvra account, and the account is the whole of the licensing. There is no licence key to type, no activation field to paste into and no purchase to make, so the plugin never asks the licence server anything: it looks for the signed session the Nolvra Hub writes when you sign in, and it opens when that session is valid. This is the same door RELIC uses.

Signing in

A signed-out PRISM MINI opens onto a card rather than its interface. The card carries a title, two lines saying the plugin is free with your Nolvra account, and one button that opens the Hub. There is no key box, no ACTIVATE button, no membership question and no price on it, because none of those has anything to answer here.

Press the button, sign in to the Hub with your email address, and come back. You do not need to close and reopen your DAW: the plugin watches the Hub's files once a second, so the card goes away in the same session, usually before you have switched windows back.

PRISM MINI before you sign in: the instrument is behind a card that says it is free with a Nolvra account, with a single button that opens the Hub. There is no key field and nothing to buy.

How you know it is open

The chip in the top strip is the answer. It reads ACCOUNT once the session has been verified and SIGN IN when it has not, so the chip names the step rather than a refusal. Hover it and the tooltip adds which account, with the address masked the same way it is masked everywhere else.

Those two words are the whole vocabulary. This product has one kind of right, so there is no tier to display and no state where the chip has to guess.

The chip in the top strip reading ACCOUNT, which is what it says once the Hub session is verified. Signed out it reads SIGN IN.

What happens to your audio while it is shut

Your voice passes through untouched. The plugin does not mute, it does not insert silence and it does not print a reminder over the take: with the gate shut the output is sample for sample identical to the input. That was measured across 882,000 samples, and the largest difference between what went in and what came out is zero, against a control with the gate open where the same measurement reads 0.75.

So a session that loses its sign-in loses the effect and not the take. It is worth knowing before a deadline rather than after one.

The Hub does not have to stay running

The session is a file the Hub leaves behind, signed, with its own expiry inside it. The plugin verifies the signature and checks the expiry, and it does that locally: no request is made and nothing is queued, which is also why this product has no offline grace window. A grace window exists to keep a paid right alive while the network is down, and this door never touches the network, so there is nothing to be offline from.

Signing out of the Hub deletes the file, and the plugin notices within a second and shows the card again. Signing back in brings it back the same way.

If the card will not go away

Three checks, in the order they turn out to be the answer. The Hub is signed out, which its own window says in one look. The Hub is signed in on another machine, and the session is a local file, so it belongs to the machine your DAW is on rather than to your account everywhere at once. Or the session has passed its expiry and the Hub has not been opened since; open it and it renews, and the plugin picks that up on its next second.

If none of those is it, write to support@nolvra.com and say which host you are in and what the chip in the top strip reads. Those two facts answer most of it.

What this is not

It is not a trial. There is no time limit on PRISM MINI, no feature is locked behind a mark, and nothing on the face is dimmed, so there is no clock to run out and no state where the product turns into a demonstration of itself.

It is also not part of a membership. The free door is an account rather than a plan, so cancelling anything never takes this plugin away.
